mario clavell larrinaga

Mario Clavell Larrinaga, the foremost specialist in XXth Century Basque flute music, was born in Bilbao. He did his musical studies at the Bilbao Conservatory and at present he is professor of flute at MUSIKENE, the Basque Higher Musical Studies Institute in Donostia - San sebastian and at the Andrés Isasi Conservatory of Getxo. We have recorded with him Delitiae Musicae (aArus0030), an exploration of Contemporary Music for Flute and Piano, where he is accompanied at the piano by Virginia Alijas. He is also an accomplished rock and jazz player and has recently presented his new jazz quartet, GINTONIC.
